Ninh Binh
Ninh Binh province is located in the southern part of the Northern delta, about 90km from Ha Noi capital.
Thanks to its geographic location at the connection point between the Red River Basin and the Ma River Basin, and between the northern plain and northwestern mountainous region, the province enjoys favourable conditions for economic and cultural exchanges with neighboring provinces and key economic localities in the North, and the Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh economic corridor.
Furthermore, Ninh Binh is home to not only developed infrastructure and convenient transport system, but also numerous historical, cultural relic sites and landscapes…. which are all potential for the province’s economic development.
Ninh Binh boasts over 800 landscapes, historical and relic sites, 80 of which have been listed as national ones. Popular destinations like Tam Coc- Bich Dong, Trang An, Van Long, Hoa Lu, Bai Dinh, Phat Diem, Kenh Ga and Cuc Phuong have attracted large crowds of local and foreign visitors over the past years.
Ninh Binh has abundant mineral resources such as limestone and clay. Limestone mountain ranges cover an area of 12,000 hectares, creating a major resource for construction material manufacturing like cement and others. Clay is used as raw material for brick making and molding industry.
All these can be take as favourable conditions for Ninh Binh to develop the construction material industry.
And the most important among the resources is the human factor.The province’s population is about 1 million, over half of which are in the working age group. Ninh Binh people are creative, active and hardworking, one of the province’s advantages in its socio-economic development.
These potential and strengths are the basis for Ninh Binh province to renew its growth model, restructure its economy for sustainable development in the spirit of the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Conclusion of the Party Central Committee’s 4th plenum.
Under the master plan for developing industry of Ninh Binh until 2020 and a vision towards 2030, the province will focus on developing processing industry, engineering industry, support industry, while prioritizing projects of high and clean technology.
The investment attraction strategy is developing industry in parallel with tourism. Areas zoned for tourism projects will not take industry projects.
In the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, Ninh Binh prioritizes sustainable development, developing high-value aquaculture, expanding the high-quality rice-growing areas and large-scale rice field model, and that of integrated intensive farming.
Tourism is seen as a spearhead economic sector of the province in the coming time. Ninh Binh focuses on developing diverse types of tourism such as cultural, religious, green and community-based. Particular attention is paid to tourism connectivity among regions and localities, as well as unique tourism products, to attract more visitors.
The province’s service sector in the future will focus on boosting commercial services for industrial parks and residential areas, and high-quality services in tourism, finance, banking, technology, information, telecommunications, transport, insurance, health care, public transport to create a harmonious development.
The clear and long-term strategies and plans will create an attractive environment for investors, mobilizing and bringing into full play the province’s strength for development in the time to come.
