Tour Description

 

Hoa Lu and Tam Coc are popular tourist destinations in Ninh Binh province. Explore the ancient citadel of Hoa Lu and the scenic landscape in Tam Coc dominated by rice fields and karst towers.

Travel about 115km South of Hanoi to Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh province. Visit the ancient citadel of Hoa Lu - the remains are the temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le who lived in 10th century and chose Hoa Lu to build the citadel in the capital city. Stop for a short hike up Yen Ngua mountain to enjoy the panoramic view, then to picturesque Tam Coc for lunch. In the afternoon we travel in a sampan through florescent green rice paddies as mountainous limestone rock formations tower around you. (L)
